Summer Beasley began her modern dance training at Webster University receiving a BFA in Dance. She continued her dance and theater education at Lindenwood University receiving a MFA in Theater with an emphasis in movement. Her choreography has been set on companies in Panama City, Panama, Kansas City, MO, Washington, D.C., and St. Louis, MO. Summer has performed with MADCO, Intensely Fun Dance Theater, Reach…a movement collective, That Uppity Theater Company, Karlovsky and Company Dance, and Leverage Dance Theater. She has collaborated with artists to produce Panorama, Gramo Danse, and FOUR: A Dance Collaboration. Summer currently teaches dance and creative movement at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School. She was recently awarded the Wilma & Roswell Messing Jr. ’34 Summer Sabbatical, Walter J. McCreery Country Day School Class of 1959 Chair of Distinguished Teaching in Memory of George P. Braun ’59, and the Dorothy Wray Roberts ’17 Faculty Merit Award.
